First day back....

Well, did it go any different to how I expected? No, not really
All the while I am setting up this blog I have the strongest urge to be brutally blunt about how the course is run and how disapointed we all are with the standards of  tutorials, support, facilities and interest, but then I wouldn't be able to show it to anyone when we do our marketing project this year, so I guess I'll have to bite my tongue and just be nice!!

Apparently all the art colleges around Kent are similarly lacking, but as a satellite university of a very large, well known campus, I would have expected more. Those students on the main campus are treated with respect; have untold facilities in a number of fields at their unregulated and immediate disposal; they have materials on hand; and a number of  permanent lecturers to both be there when they're supposed to, and actually inspire and direct. We wish..... the fallout from our course in 2 years has been huge, of 14 starting there are 5 left... I need not wonder why!

Mind you, watching how the 1st and 2nd years have been treated in relation, I am beginning to suspect that as adults we are expecting too much, and if we were the typical 18/19 year olds enrolled, we'd be flirted with and helped out more too. Sound bitter? Not really! A couple of them are complete morons, and yet because they are chatty and egotistical they still manage great grades on sub-gcse work! Go figure!

I'm sure I said I'd play nice... guess I'd better get my non-sceptical, just-state-the-facts head on!

I know art is wholly subjective, but it doesn't help when your subjective lecturer has a narrow field of vision and appreciation. Such is life...

First post!

Well, here we go...will post a run-down of previous years works so this year won't seem so unrelated.
